EXPERIENCE

Designer and illustrator Brian Currie began his career as a contractor in 1998 at R. R. Donnelley (through Digital People) where he worked for three years designing advertisement, training new employees and troubleshooting pre-press issues.

During this time, and for many years afterward, he worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for Hanson Wilson Associates in Park Ridge. Among the most prominent of the many projects Brian executed at HWA were a brochure and photo collage cover for AMI Bearings, logo and layout for the Uptown Review newsletter, press packet designs/illustrations for Lyson trade shows around the country, and troubleshooting coding issues with the Rigby & Rigby website.

In 2001, Brian took a job downtown at Business Media Publications, where he designed advertisements for clients from a range of industries including manufacturing, food service, medical supplies, construction, logistics and more. He also laid out B2B magazine article reprints and illustrated the "Manufacturing Tomorrow" column of Manufacturing Today magazine.

Brian later worked at Cygnet Midwest in Aurora on catalogs, signage, web sites and advertisements, including work for prestigious clients like Portillo's and Kampgrounds of America. Two noteworthy achievements were designing scannable QR code laminates, contest entry landing pages (with php form-processing code) and HTML emails for Westcon's trade show booth; and an interactive Flash web graphic for SlipPlate, to tie in with the "Two Guys Garage" TV show.

After stints as a contractor at Aon Hewitt and Feld Entertainment, and as a freelancer for Tapestry communications, Brian worked for Douglas Press, designing logos, characters, symbols, tickets and flare/seal cards for pull tab games, as well as maintaining the company website. He has also been tapped to research and write proposals for upgrading the company website to include responsive design, and for creating a company YouTube channel.
